Description : Each mL of the solution for injection contains insulin glulisine 100 units equivalent to 3.49 mg. Each pen contains 3 mL of solution, equivalent to 300 units.
It contains sodium <1 mmol (23 mg) per dose ie, essentially ‘sodium-free’.
Insulin glulisine is made by biotechnology.
It has rapid onset of action (within 10-20 min) and short duration of action (about 4 hrs).
Indications / Uses : Treatment of adults, adolescents & childn =6 yr w/ DM, where treatment w/ insulin is required.
Administration : Should be taken with food: Administer w/in 15 min or immediately after a meal.
Contraindications : Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions : Renal or hepatic impairment. Transfer from other types of insulin. Inadequate dosing or discontinuation of treatment. Monitor blood sugar level frequently. Contains metacresol which may cause allergic reactions. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <6 yr.

Each mL of suspension for injection contains 100 units of soluble insulin aspart 30% and protamine crystallized insulin aspart 70% (equivalent to 3.5 mg).
Insulin aspart is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
One pre-filled pen contains 3 mL equivalent to 300 U.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Glycerol, phenol, metacresol, zinc chloride, sodium chloride, disodium phosphate dihydrate, protamine sulfate, sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid (for pH adjustment) and water for injections.

One (1) mL contains insulin lispro (recombinant DNA origin produced in Escherichia coli) 100 U (equivalent to 3.5 mg). Each vial includes 10 mL equivalent to insulin lispro 1,000 U.
Humalog also contains the following inactive ingredients: m-cresol (3.15 mg/mL), glycerol, dibasic sodium phosphate?7H2O, zinc oxide and water for injection. Hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide may be used to adjust the pH to 7-7.8.
