Azithromycin 500Mg Tablet – RiteMed
Indications / Uses : Treatment of infections of the upper & lower resp tract, skin & soft tissues & infections of the genitals due to Chlamydia trachomatis.
Contraindications : Hypersensitivity to azithromycin monohydrate, erythromycin, any macrolide or ketolide antibiotic.
Special Precautions : Allergic reactions including angioedema & anaphylaxis. Significant hepatic disease. Monitor liver function tests. Co-administration w/ ergot derivatives. Consider Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea (CDAD) in patients who present w/ diarrhea after use. Severe renal impairment (CFR <10 mL/min); congenital or documented QT prolongation, currently receiving treatment w/ other active substances known to prolong QT interval eg, class IA & III antiarrhythmics, cisapride & terfenadine, electrolyte disturbance particularly in cases of hypokalemia & hypomagnesemia, clinically relevant bradycardia, cardiac arrhythmia or severe cardiac insufficiency. Exacerbations of myasthenia gravis symptoms. Not for prevention or treatment of Mycobacterium avium complex in childn. Rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn & adolescents <45 kg body wt.
